Welcome to i-Lax, International Lacrosse for Olympics
In 1904 & 1908, Lacrosse was formally introduced in Olympic competition, representing only three countries, England, Canada, and the United States, with Canada winning both Championships.
Lacrosse was a demonstration sport at the Olympics in 1928, 1932, and 1948, and an exhibition tournament was held at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1980. A few other countries, most notably Czech Republic, Germany and Japan, have taken up lacrosse, but there are still not enough national governing bodies to warrant its consideration as a full-fledged Olympic sport.Presently, the Olympic Charter states that a men’s sport must be widely played in 75 countries to become an Olympic event.
Lacrosse is growing in popularity and needs funding and support from the international lacrosse community to realize the international growth of lacrosse and an eventual Olympic invitation. I-Lax has created the “i-Lax Olympic Fund” for the primary purpose to facilitate philanthropic funding initiatives on an international scale.Using a unique distribution model, i-Lax intends to channel demand, facilitate access and availability recognized lacrosse equipment lines, establish an international network of Affiliates, Developmental Organizations, and supporters of lacrosse, all of which will assist in the funding of the i-Lax Olympic Fund. With the support of the International lacrosse community, i-Lax intends to help fund lacrosse development initiatives throughout Czech Republic, neighboring countries, and eventually throughout the world.
Funds will be generated by charitable donation, membership-affiliates, sponsorship, and commissions earned through i-Lax Partnership agreements. i-Lax affiliates will enjoy exclusive access to member-only pricing on lacrosse goods and services, and every purchase will help fund the i-Lax Olympic Fund.
With the growing interest and increasing demand for lacrosse equipment on an international scale, i-Lax will seek to embrace lacrosse world-wide, and establish a significant medium to help facilitate the re-entry of lacrosse into Olympic Competition.Pledge your support by e-mailing us at: support@i-lax.com
